The Prepared Caregiver Seminars

If you have a loved one who is in need of care or may need care in the future, this seminar may be for you!

The Prepared Caregiver March 14, 2018 at 2 pm April 12, 2018 at 7 pm Sneads Ferry Presbyterian Church Pastoral Care Ministry will provide an educational workshop to prepare future caregivers for the myriad of responsibilities involved in the caregiving role and provide options that may help them fulfil those responsibilities more effectively while protecting their own emotional, physical and financial well-being.   According to a study by the National Alliance for Caregiving and AARP, approximately 43.5 million caregivers provided unpaid care to an adult or child over the previous year. About 34.2 million cared for an adult age 50 or older. Because many individuals new to the caregiving role feel ill-equipped, we want to provide insights and resources to empower attendees to rise to challenges they may one day encounter.  Topics we will discuss will include preparing necessary medical records, financial and identity theft, and caregiver services available within our community.  You may sign up on the Pastoral Care bulletin board or email Marianne Carter at carter.mep@gmail.com .   This workshop is  free and open to anyone in the community.
